J.D. Drew added four ribbies to his seasonal total with one swing of the bat
as the blistering-hot Columbus Crowd defeated the reeling Chainsaw
Proctologists by a score of 13 to 4 at the ballpark.
Drew was a thorn in the side of the hometown fans as he enjoyed a fine day at
their team's expense. He singled resulting in a run in the 3rd inning,
caught a hold of a bad pitch for a Grand Slam homerun (his 16th of the
season) in the 4th inning and delivered a single plating a run in the 9th
inning. For the game Columbus out-hit Chainsaw 19 to 9.
The victory went to Orlando Hernandez(5-1) who went 5 and 2/3 innings,
allowing 4 runs. The loss was charged to Cory Lidle(6-13). He was hit hard
and gave up 8 hits and 3 walks in 3 and 1/3 innings.
It was another victory for Columbus at the ballpark. Now their winning streak
stands at 8 games.
